A Traffic Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the high-risk tasks involved in traffic management and the control measures required to complete the work safely. It identifies potential hazards, explains how risks will be managed, and ensures all workers understand the safe work practices expected on site.

All traffic management personnel must read and understand the relevant SWMS before commencing work and follow the procedures at all times to help protect themselves, their teammates, and the public.
